Episode 8 - Welcome to the 2007/2008 Season

Red Deer Fish and Game Association meetings started in September, so we are well into our 2007/2008 season. Our meetings are held the third Monday of every month at the Red Deer Legion in Red Deer. The Legion is located on Molly Bannister drive just north of the Bower Mall. The next meeting is November 19th. Meetings start at 7:00pm.

Episode 4 - Ted Klaver demonstrates championship moose calling.

In this episode we talk to Ted Klaver, award winning moose caller. During his presentation at the Sportsman Show, Ted talked about moose calling competitions in Ontario and how he would like to see them in Alberta. From hearing Ted talk about his experiences in the bush and his success in calling in moose and deer, it’s clear that his calling isn’t just for show but works and works well at putting meat in the pot and trophies on the wall. Episode 2 - Red Deer Sportsman Show - Bentley Coben and Saskatchewan Whitetail Deer

We just wrapped up two and a half days at the 41st Red Deer Sportsman Show here in Red Deer Alberta and I was able to talk to a few of the folks out on the show floor. In this episode we talk to Bentley Coben from Saskatchewan. As well as running an outfitting and guide business, Bentley produces videos which feature the great whitetail bucks they have out on the prairie. I was able to catch Bentley’s presentation and the videos of those Saskatchewan whitetail were incredible. He also talked about his shed hunting and at his booth had some fine examples of whitetail sheds. In upcoming episodes Steve Bauer, the President of the Red Deer Fish and Game Association will talk about the benefits of being a member, Ted Klaver of Red Deer will demonstrate his award wining Moose calls and Rob McCoy shares his passion for black powder shooting. see ya' outside
